Seattle Community Access Network (SCAN) is proud to announce that the organization will be the recipient of five Best of the Northwest Video Awards at the Northwest Community Media Gathering on May 15, 2010. This Gathering is the Regional Conference for Northwest members of the Alliance for Community Media and will be held in Olympia, WA.

The Best of the Northwest Video Awards honors outstanding programs telecast on community television channels in the Northwest region of the Alliance for Community Media. The Northwest region comprises Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, Alaska, Alberta, and British Columbia. SCAN engages and enriches the diverse communities of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest through television production, training, and serving as a community media broadcast center. SCAN provides public access TV to Seattle, most of King County, and part of southern Snohomish County on Comcast channel 77 and Broadstripe channel 23, as well as streaming live on www.scantv.org. SCAN trains individuals and organizations alike in video and television production. SCAN covers a wide variety of programming including cultural, political, religious, youth, ethnic and social shows; SCAN is a voice for under-represented sectors of the community.
